Born and raised in Grand Rapids, Michigan, I have enjoyed the beautiful summers in Michigan all of my life. As a young girl, I spent many Saturday mornings fishing with my father learning to appreciate the outdoors. As we both grew older, our time on the water together became a luxury instead of a habit, and I realized that I really missed the quiet, relaxing solitude that Michigan lakes have to offer. It was time for me to get back to nature and find a place on the water to call my own.

My 20 year search for lakefront property finally came to an end in 1995, when I found my little slice of heaven in Hesperia Michigan on McLaren Lake. I had fished the lake for 10 years prior, making the drive from Grand Rapids to Hesperia one weekend each month, and staying with a friend who lived on the White River. I purchased the cottage in the dead of winter, not really giving forethought to the structure itself, because I new the lake was a fabulous fishery.

Ten years passed by, and before I knew it, I was ready to upgrade and update my little slice of heaven. It can now be occupied 12 months out of the year with full amenities.
